Welcome to Satoricamp. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (satoricamp.com) and any inquiry or reservation of tours, experiences, or travel services arranged through us. By using our website or making a reservation, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.
Satoricamp curates and presents wellness, cultural, and travel experiences in Japan. Bookings are made directly with independent, licensed local travel companies in Japan (“local travel companies”), which plan and deliver the experiences. Except where we expressly state that we are the provider of a particular service, Satoricamp acts as a facilitator that connects you with these local travel companies.
Your travel contract is formed with the local travel company, which is responsible for delivering the experience in accordance with its own terms. The local travel company will identify itself and present its own terms to you before you book.
When you make a reservation, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the authority to accept these Terms on behalf of everyone named in the reservation. You are responsible for ensuring that all details you provide are accurate.
Your reservation is confirmed once the local travel company sends you a written confirmation. Payment is made directly to the local travel company, on the payment terms it presents to you before you book.
Cancellation policies vary depending on the local travel company. The specific cancellation and refund policy that applies to your reservation will be presented to you by the local travel company before you book. By confirming your reservation, you agree to the cancellation policy shown for that experience.
If a local travel company cancels an experience, any refund will be handled according to that company’s policy. We will assist you in communicating with the local travel company and, where possible, in arranging an alternative.
If you need to change a confirmed reservation, we will pass your request to the relevant local travel company. Whether a change can be made, and any fees for doing so, depends on the local travel company’s terms. We cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.
Occasionally a local travel company may need to change or cancel an experience – for example, due to weather, insufficient participants, or circumstances beyond its control. Where this happens, the local travel company’s terms govern your rights, and we will help you understand your options and communicate with the local travel company.
We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance before you travel. Your insurance should provide adequate cover for at least medical expenses, injury, repatriation, cancellation, curtailment, and the specific activities included in your experience. You are responsible for ensuring your insurance meets your needs.
You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid passport, any required visas, and that you meet all entry and health requirements for travel to and within Japan. We are not liable for any costs or losses arising from your failure to meet these requirements. Requirements can change, so please check official sources before you travel.
You are responsible for assessing whether an experience is suitable for your fitness and health, and for disclosing to the local travel company any medical conditions, allergies, or requirements relevant to your participation. You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of the local travel company and its guides, and to behave in a way that does not endanger or unreasonably disrupt others. Local travel companies may decline participation or remove a participant who does not comply, without refund.
Satoricamp acts as a facilitator connecting you with independent local travel companies. The local travel company is solely responsible for the experience, and any claim relating to it should be made against the local travel company. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, or other irregularity arising from acts or omissions of a local travel company or any third-party service provider, or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Where we are found liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid directly to Satoricamp for the relevant reservation or US$100, whichever is greater.
We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where it is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, earthquakes, epidemics or pandemics, government action, civil unrest, strikes, or transport disruption.
We take care to ensure that the information on our website is accurate, but experiences, prices, and availability can change. We do not warrant that all content is free from errors, and we reserve the right to correct errors and update information at any time.
All content on satoricamp.com, including text, images, logos, and design, is owned by or licensed to Satoricamp and may not be reproduced without our permission.
If a problem arises during your experience, please raise it with the local travel company or its guide immediately so it can be addressed on the spot. If the matter is not resolved, please contact us via our Contact Us page within 30 days of the end of your experience, and we will help you raise it with the local travel company.
Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
These Terms, and your use of the Satoricamp website and services, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
This does not affect the travel contract, which is formed directly with the local travel company. That contract is governed by the law and jurisdiction set out in the local travel company’s own terms, which will typically be the law of Japan or another jurisdiction specified by the local travel company. Those terms are presented to you before you book.
If you opt in through our website forms, Satoricamp may send you text messages about your journey planning and inquiry, as well as occasional messages about journeys, retreats, and events. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply QUIT to opt out at any time. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your reservation applies to that reservation. Please review these Terms before each reservation.
