Terms of Service

Welcome to Satoricamp. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of our website (satoricamp.com) and any reservation or purchase of tours, experiences, or travel services made through us. By using our website or making a reservation, you agree to these Terms. Please read them carefully.

1. About Satoricamp and Our Role

Satoricamp curates and presents wellness, cultural, and travel experiences in Japan. Bookings are made directly with independent local tour operators in Japan who deliver the experiences. Except where we expressly state that we are the provider of a particular service, Satoricamp acts as a facilitator that connects you with these local operators.

Your travel contract is formed with the local tour operator, which is responsible for delivering the experience in accordance with its own terms. We will clearly identify the operator and present the relevant terms before you complete your purchase.

2. Reservations and Payment

When you make a reservation, you confirm that you are at least 18 years old and have the authority to accept these Terms on behalf of everyone named in the reservation. You are responsible for ensuring that all details you provide are accurate.

Your reservation is confirmed once we (or the local operator) send you a written confirmation. Payment terms, deposits, and balance due dates will be shown before you complete your purchase.

3. Cancellations and Refunds

Cancellation policies vary depending on the operator. The specific cancellation and refund policy that applies to your reservation will be clearly presented to you before you complete your purchase. By confirming your reservation, you agree to the cancellation policy shown for that experience.

If a local operator cancels an experience, any refund will be handled according to that operator’s policy. We will assist you in communicating with the operator and, where possible, in arranging an alternative.

4. Changes by You

If you need to change a confirmed reservation, we will pass your request to the relevant local operator. Whether a change can be made, and any fees for doing so, depends on the operator’s terms. We cannot guarantee that changes will be possible.

5. Changes or Cancellations by the Operator

Occasionally a local operator may need to change or cancel an experience – for example, due to weather, insufficient participants, or circumstances beyond their control. Where this happens, the operator’s terms govern your rights, and we will help you understand your options and communicate with the operator.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that you purchase comprehensive travel insurance before you travel. Your insurance should provide adequate cover for at least medical expenses, injury, repatriation, cancellation, curtailment, and the specific activities included in your experience. You are responsible for ensuring your insurance meets your needs.

7. Passports, Visas, and Health Requirements

You are responsible for ensuring that you have a valid passport, any required visas, and that you meet all entry and health requirements for travel to and within Japan. We are not liable for any costs or losses arising from your failure to meet these requirements. Requirements can change, so please check official sources before you travel.

8. Your Responsibilities and Conduct

You are responsible for assessing whether an experience is suitable for your fitness and health, and for disclosing to the local operator any medical conditions, allergies, or requirements relevant to your participation. You agree to follow the reasonable instructions of the local operator and its guides, and to behave in a way that does not endanger or unreasonably disrupt others. Operators may decline participation or remove a participant who does not comply, without refund.

9. Limitation of Liability

Satoricamp acts as a facilitator connecting you with independent local tour operators. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any injury, illness, death, loss, damage, delay, or other irregularity arising from acts or omissions of a local operator or any third-party service provider, or from circumstances beyond our reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud. Where we are found liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid to Satoricamp for the relevant reservation.

10. Force Majeure

We are not responsible for any failure or delay in performing our obligations where it is caused by events beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to natural disasters, extreme weather, earthquakes, epidemics or pandemics, government action, civil unrest, strikes, or transport disruption.

11. Website Content and Accuracy

We take care to ensure that the information on our website is accurate, but experiences, prices, and availability can change. We do not warrant that all content is free from errors, and we reserve the right to correct errors and update information at any time.

12. Intellectual Property

All content on satoricamp.com, including text, images, logos, and design, is owned by or licensed to Satoricamp and may not be reproduced without our permission.

13. Complaints

If a problem arises during your experience, please raise it with the local operator or their guide immediately so it can be addressed on the spot. If the matter is not resolved.

14. Privacy

Your personal information is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

15. Governing Law

These Terms, and your use of the Satoricamp website and services, are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.

This does not affect the travel contract, which is formed directly with the local tour operator. That contract is governed by the law and jurisdiction set out in the operator’s own terms, which will typically be the law of Japan or another jurisdiction specified by the operator. Those terms are presented to you before you complete your purchase.

16. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version in effect at the time of your reservation applies to that reservation. Please review these Terms before each reservation.
